Interview with Emsi

ABOUT EMSI

Emsi is a Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduate and an integral part of the Affordable Staff family, embodying the qualities essential for a thriving administrative professional. With a strong analytical foundation and a people-oriented approach, Emsi consistently demonstrates organisation, reliability, and attention to detail in day-to-day work. This experience, combined with continued exposure to structured administrative processes, enables Emsi to contribute effectively to real estate and general administrative support functions.

Onboarding Training and Assessment
At Affordable Staff, we aim for each team member to possess a robust understanding of administrative tasks but also have a deep appreciation and comprehension of Australian business practices and cultural nuances, ensuring they are exceptionally well-prepared to support their clients effectively. While this training starts with real estate, the skills acquired provide a comprehensive overview of general admin competencies, ensuring that trainees are versatile and capable of supporting a wide range of administrative tasks.

Affordable Staff understands that residential tenancy agreements vary by state. Our basic training covers general principles across different locations in Australia, and we emphasise the importance of client-specific training to address unique requirements.

Emsi is equipped with specialised knowledge and skills tailored to the Australian real estate industry. The training began with an introduction to the fundamentals of real estate in Australia, including viewing videos and reading articles to understand the market’s nuances. Practical exercises, such as processing property management tasks like invoices, lease agreements, and routine inspections, are central to the curriculum.

These exercises familiarise Emsi with common real estate procedures and hone data entry and organisational skills, which are crucial for maintaining accurate records and managing properties efficiently.

Affordable Staff Tools Training
Tools training is an integral part of the General Admin training program, ensuring team members gain proficiency in essential software used in day-to-day operations. Emsi was introduced to LastPass for password management, Outlook for email and calendar organisation, TechSmith for capturing and recording, Hubstaff for time tracking, Zoom and Teams for virtual communication, OneDrive for file management, and Trello for project management.

Each session combines theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on activities, allowing Emsi to apply the learnings immediately. Emsi is knowledgeable in securely managing passwords, organising and categorising emails, capturing and sharing visual content, tracking work time and productivity, conducting and managing virtual meetings, handling cloud storage, and managing projects effectively.

Additionally, time permitting, Emsi received an overview of property management tools such as Property Tree, Property Me, Console, DocHub, FileSmart, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat, Console Gateway, 1Form, Inspection Manager, REST Professional, Palace, Maintenance Manager, Realworks, and CoreLogic. This exposure ensures readiness to adapt quickly to client-specific systems.

Additional Tools Proficiency
Prior to training with Affordable Staff, Emsi had already gained foundational exposure to general office tools through academic and early work experience. This background supported the development of practical familiarity with common productivity software and digital workflows, enabling a smooth transition into structured admin and real estate systems.

Additional Skills and Notable Experience
Emsi has accumulated nearly two and a half years of early professional exposure through support-focused roles, including one year and nine months as a student assistant and eight months as an on-the-job trainee. These roles provided a strong foundation in administrative support and workplace coordination.

Since June 2022, Emsi has been a vital component of our Real Estate/Property Management team at Affordable Staff. In this role, Emsi has been entrusted with a wide array of responsibilities that require meticulous attention to detail and proactive communication. Emsi’s tasks include:
