Strengths

Kim is patient, soft-spoken, and organised. He has over 13 years of working experience, with expertise in technical support, customer service, data encoding, and teaching. He has a good command of the English language both in spoken and written form.

He began his career as an instructor at a computer institute in the city. He was able to handle beginner and intermediate classes for basic computer courses, where he taught computer use, function, and troubleshooting. He also provided lessons for various Microsoft Office programs and created hands-on exercises according to each learning level. He learned to manage a class effectively and tailor each lesson according to age groups with diverse learning levels. He also created ways to make each class interesting and lively.

He also had a home-based job as a data encoder for a US-based automotive-recycling company. Here, he acquired scavenged automobile parts from insurance companies, then evaluated and sold these parts in the market for half the price. He honed his skills in sales and data management, developing mastery in persuasive customer service and gaining comfort in using computer platforms for data entry. He also developed his organisational skills and attention to detail.

The bulk of his career revolved around the call center industry, as he took up roles in customer service and technical support, handling accounts in telecommunications, finance, entertainment, and manufacturing. As a technical support representative, he provided troubleshooting support on computer hardware and software, mobile data, Internet, and cable TV services — all for companies based in the United States. He occasionally assisted in billing enquiries through email and chat. In customer service, he was able to handle a UK-based mortgage servicing firm, where he assisted clients’ queries on their mortgage accounts. He processed and sent out financial statements, addressed billing disputes and concerns, followed-up delinquent tenants, and documented every business transaction.

Kim’s experience in customer service and technical support honed his communication and interpersonal skills as he got exposed to various customers of different nationalities. He learned to listen attentively to a client’s concerns. And with ample product knowledge, he was able to provide first-call resolutions and engage his customers through service upgrades and treats. He learned to multitask and gained confidence in using certain computer tools vital in documentation and record keeping.

Other Information

Kim spends most of his leisure time surfing the Internet, watching cooking videos on YouTube and food channels, and watching anime. He also enjoys reading books, listening to music or audiobooks, eating out with his friends, going out of town, or simply malling.

His biggest achievement to date was sending his siblings to school. He persevered with his studies and when it was his time to help, he got a job, worked hard, and provided his siblings support until they graduated.
