Interview with Alexis

ABOUT ALEXIS

Alexis is a Bachelor of Science in Biology graduate with more than 3 years of customer service experience, including supporting a travel account where he managed reservation information, assisted with booking changes, resolved website and application concerns, and communicated with customers and partner hotels through phone, email, and chat. This experience has developed transferable strengths in customer communication, information checking, data management, coordination, and issue resolution. Complementing his professional background, Alexis has completed Affordable Staff training covering Australian Real Estate and Property Management fundamentals and general administrative processes. Outside work, he enjoys travelling, music, reading, movies and anime, gaming, and playing the guitar, bass, and ukulele.

Onboarding Training and Assessment

At Affordable Staff, we aim for each team member to possess a robust understanding of administrative tasks but also have a deep appreciation and comprehension of Australian business practices and cultural nuances, ensuring they are exceptionally well-prepared to support their clients effectively. While this training starts with real estate, the skills acquired provide a comprehensive overview of general admin competencies, ensuring that trainees are versatile and capable of supporting a wide range of administrative tasks.

Affordable Staff understands that residential tenancy agreements vary by state. Our basic training covers general principles across different locations in Australia, and we emphasise the importance of client-specific training to address unique requirements.

Alexis is equipped with specialised knowledge and skills tailored to the Australian real estate industry. Alexis’s training began with an introduction to the fundamentals of real estate in Australia, including viewing videos and reading articles to understand the market’s nuances. Practical exercises, like processing property management tasks like invoices, lease agreements, and routine inspections, are central to the curriculum.

These exercises familiarise Alexis with common real estate procedures and hone his data entry and organisational skills, which are crucial for maintaining accurate records and managing properties efficiently.

Affordable Staff Tools Training

Tools training is an integral part of the General Admin training program, ensuring our team members gain proficiency in essential software used in day-to-day operations. Our team members were introduced to LastPass for password management, Outlook for email and calendar organisation, Hubstaff for time tracking, Zoom and Teams for virtual communication, OneDrive for file management, and Trello for project management.

Each session combines theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on activities, allowing Alexis to apply the learnings immediately. Alexis is knowledgeable on how to securely manage passwords, organise and categorise emails, capture and share visual content, track work time and productivity, conduct and manage virtual meetings, handle cloud storage, and manage projects effectively.

Additionally, time permitting, Alexis and all team members receive an overview of property management tools like Property Tree, Property Me, Console, DocHub, FileSmart, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat, Console Gateway, 1Form, Inspection Manager, REST Professional, Palace, Maintenance Manager, Realworks, and CoreLogic.

This comprehensive approach ensures Alexis is well-equipped to handle a variety of tools, leading to increased efficiency and task productivity.

Additional Tools Proficiency

Before his training with Affordable Staff, Alexis had already learned and gained experience with the following tools and software:

  • Practical Application: Canva, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, OneDrive

He demonstrates a systematic approach to organisation and can work with a high degree of autonomy once expectations and processes are established. His previous employment shows an ability to learn customer service systems, manage information across different communication channels, and take on additional responsibilities. Continuing to strengthen his detail-review habits, pacing, and conciseness in communication will further support consistency as he transitions into Real Estate administrative work.

Interpersonal Skills and Personal Characteristics

Alexis presents as friendly, eager to accept responsibility, and willing to improve his work. His customer service background has developed both written and verbal communication skills and experience working directly with different parties to resolve concerns. Although he describes himself as naturally introverted, his professional experience helped him build greater confidence in customer communication and professional correspondence. He has also demonstrated cooperation and accountability through additional responsibilities supporting his previous team.

Suitability

Alexis is suitable for Real Estate Virtual Assistant, Property Management Administrative Support, general Real Estate Administration, customer service, and other administrative roles involving communication, records management, coordination, and structured processes.

Why Alexis is Suitable for the Role

Alexis combines more than 3 years of customer service experience with transferable administrative strengths in communication, data management, information checking, issue resolution, and coordination. His previous role required him to manage reservation information accurately, communicate with customers and business partners across multiple channels, and help resolve issues involving bookings and online systems.

His Affordable Staff training adds a relevant foundation in Australian Real Estate and Property Management administration, while his previous professional experience demonstrates that he can work within structured processes, learn systems, communicate with different stakeholders, and manage information responsibly.
